Creating a Medical study

As it turns out, finding how a medical study is setup is quite the conundrum many times I thought I found a website that could help the website/article would say "You have to record all results and variances and do it right".

Almost every time. I am thinking of asking people who have done studys before how they were setup. my guess to how its setup is basically just recording everything done and making a timeline of the differences. I am not sure how it should be done but asking around should help.
